Everything that children is taught whether directly or indirectly. As teachers, parents or other friends and family, we all have a duty to show them what is best and to act as role models when around younger generations. Children won’t show prejudice or hatred towards someone of a different race, religion, culture, sexuality or with a disability, unless they are led to believe that it is different. Through our work we plan to normalise all differences between people so that we can all live feeling safe and happy.
“If we are to teach real peace in this world… we shall have to begin with the children.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
Postcards For Peace is an organisation focused on education. We offer a growing range of free resources and are working on some cross-curriculum lesson plans which will be available soon. Listed below are our three current projects for schools around the world:
|POSTCARD EXCHANGE NETWORK
We have created a network of schools around the world for classes of children to design and exchange postcards with other children, of a similar age, in different countries.
Our Ambassador Schools enjoy setting an example to their local communities and show that young people can play a massive part in changing the world and promoting peace in everything they do.
|POSTCARD DESIGN COMPETITION
Our annual postcard design competition is popular with children around the world.
Our 2017 competition is now open.
