Bhavana is a junior at Normal Community High School in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, USA. After spending part of her childhood in India, Bhavana became extremely interested in the international community and socioeconomic issues facing people around the world. She found an outlet for her interest and passion through community service, writing, and activism.
Today, Bhavana is the Founder and Executive Director of the organization Four Corners, which she was able to create after being chosen as a 2016 HERlead Fellow and Grantee. Through this organization, she addresses education for low-income children. She is also a part of the Day of the Girl-US Action Team, the Redefy Campaigns Team and the Plan International USA Youth Advisory Board, and she writes for Millennials in Action and The Progressive Teen. Bhavana plans to study law and go into government in order to address the issues she cares about like gender equality, income inequality and racial equality.
Bhavana loves Postcards For Peace because of how the organization utilizes creativity and art to spread important messages about social issues. She is excited to promote its work and share it with people around her.
