Serene Dardari is a Syrian-Circassian social worker and nonprofit consultant. In 2015 she founded a social enterprise called the Shams Network (Sun in Arabic), offering technical support to NGOs, conceptualizing and implementing money generating projects for displaced and marginalized groups and youth empowerment through capacity building.
With very minimal resources and the support of her community, Serene and her team managed to create a safe space for refugee children in Lebanon called ‘BeFriend Me’, Serene believes that every child deserves to experience a childhood similar to the one she was lucky enough to enjoy, filled with exploration, imagination and magic!
Serene has a background in international affairs, business, and communication arts. She is now completing her International Masters degree in Conflictology. Serene doesn’t believe in countries, boredom or sugar-free food.
