Postcard Design Competition for Children 2018

The competition has now closed for 2018 and will return in 2019. Winners will be notified shortly.

2018 is the fifth year of the Postcards For Peace Postcard Design Competition. The competition is always very popular and over the last five years, we have received entries from many countries including Russia, Greece, New Zealand, Singapore, Germany, Switzerland, Iraq, Lebanon, the USA and UK. To mark the fifth anniversary of the charity and the competition we are planning something special: we will be choosing twenty of the best entries that will each be printed and sent out to a different location. Each time someone receives one of the twenty postcards, they will be asked to log their location on our website and upload a photo before they send it on again. We will track the route that each of these twenty postcards takes as they zig-zag around the world. We hope that the postcards will visit different countries, religions, cultures, the young and old and, who knows, maybe the occasional celebrity or politician too!

The Competition

We want children to design a postcard that we can use for this campaign and which uses the theme of “Uniting the World”. Because the chosen twenty designs will be used for postcards that will be sent out, and tracked as they journey around the world, it is important that each entrant sticks to this theme. Children can enter as many times as they like. Their designs should be colourful, eye-catching and, importantly, all their own work.

The competition is open to all children aged 5-17 around the world to take part. There are three age groups: 5-8, 9-12 and 13-17. Each child’s date of birth must be included on the entry form. As well as being used for the campaign outlined above, the best entries may be printed and sold to raise awareness of Postcards For Peace and help to fund our important work in teaching peace and ending discrimination and prejudice.

The closing date for entries is Friday 29th June 2018.

The Prize

The winning twenty designs will be printed and sent out around the world as described above. Every child that enters will receive a certificate.
