2017 is the fourth year of the Postcards For Peace Postcard Design Competition and this year, to make the competition appeal to a wider audience, we are giving children five different themes to choose from for their designs:
1 What does “peace” mean to you?
2 Unity in diversity
4 Peace Day (21st September each year)
We want children to design a postcard that we can use to promote our work around the world. They can choose any of the five categories for their designs and are free to come up with as many ideas as they like. Their designs should be colourful, eye-catching and, importantly, all their own work.
The competition is open to all children aged 5-16 around the world to take part. There are three age groups: 5-8, 9-11 and 12-16 – it is important that the child’s date of birth is included on the entry form. The best entries may be printed and sold to raise awareness of the work of Postcards For Peace and help fund our important work in teaching peace.
We will put together a prize for the winner of each age group which contains a mix of art materials, stationery and books.
The closing date for entries is Friday 7th July 2017.
